jog-in
I've never been much of a jogger or a runner. I mean when i was younger i used to play soccer and softball (oh and basketball camp one summer), but i wasn't really that good at either. Ballet was my sport. I could run really fast for a really short amount of time (fastest on my softball team...we were 8). The summer before my junior year of high school at church camp we mentored little kids and the little boy that i was paired up with said he was the fastest. We raced and i won. He was probably only 8 so maybe that wasn't fair. If for whatever reason i ever got it in my mind that i wanted to go for a jog it only lasted once. Like once a year...if that. I think the worst jog i ever did was when i decided to go with my brother the day i got new contacts and a new prescription. Everything was dizzy. Earlier this year i decided to head out to get ready for the dance class i was starting (since i hadn't had a class in forever) and for the Warrior Dash that is coming up. Yep. One and done. I thought i was going to throw up afterwards. I've heard that it's not best to go into this Dash cold turkey, so last Saturday morning we went to the park. Now me and z walk the park all the time. I can do that...be a walker, but a jogger? Pooshaw. We survived. My one and done was over with for the year. Except it wasn't. I figured if i start off small and slow i can build myself up for this Dash in September. I've been 4 times so far this past week and each time i go it seems I'm able to go a smidge longer. Of course it seems I'm starting this in the hottest days of the decade here, but we go early in the mornings. It still doesn't seem to make a difference some days. We'll see how long this jogging journey lasts. I hope to at least keep it going till September so i won't die trying to leap over fire. Maybe Jeremy will go with me this weekend.
Here is Ziva taking a water break. Hot pup!
Oh, but don't worry...she hogs the AC when we get in the car.

paint by numbers and a few more flowers from the park
Some more flowers i took from the park. It's hard to get them from the park to our home without getting a little beat up or wilted, but i do my best. Also i went out to the antique mall to browse. I came back with 5 new to me paint by numbers and a little footed vase.
I believe the flowers and the horses are kinda old. The Venice scene i did myself a few years ago. The Last Supper I've been eyeing for awhile. It was up on the wall all the way at the top by the ceiling so i never really got to see it up close. I thought that awhile back i saw one in Hobby Lobby and i wanted to do it myself, but ever since then i go back to look and it's never there. I still wish i could have done it buuuut it did come framed!
I've been working on a lighthouse one for the past few months and last night i ran out of one of the colors i still need a lot of and it looks pretty bad. It was a cheap one and the paint seems to be kinda watery and it doesn't even cover up the numbers or lines very well so you can see them through the paint. Plus you have to mix most of the colors yourself and they didn't turn out like the picture. So i started working on a (Wise) Owl last night. (i bought a bunch a few months ago...i still have 2 ship ones)

over the weekend
Jeremy had to work most of Saturday. Me and Z just stuck around the house,
doing a little cleaning and job searching/applying.
We watched The Artist later that evening.
Sunday morning Jeremy got up early and went for a bike ride.
I woke up with a sore throat, stuffed up nose, and a headache so i feel
back asleep on the couch for awhile.
When he came home he brought back some breakfast from the grocery store...
donuts, fruit, milk, and cereal.
I was feeling better so we got ready and headed to church.
After church we decided we didn't want to go home just yet so we got lost and drove all
over St. Louis looking at houses and neighborhoods.
We stopped off at a St. Louis Bread Company (Panera) and i must not be ordering
the right thing, because once again i was disappointed with my sandwich.
(i mean if i wanted just a turkey and cheese sandwich with 1 strip of bacon fat on it then i could
do that for free at my own house...and added the ingredients they forgot to put on there. Humph.)
After lunch we drove around some more house/neighborhood hunting.
We might move to a house (rent) later this year.
The rest of the day was spent napping, tv watching and wishing the weekend wasn't over.
Oh, and playing with Ziva...she was bouncing off the walls.
hope your weekend was a good one!

stolen flowers
sometimes i steal flowers from the park or clip a few from the "community garden" outside our loft that has been deserted. most of the ones outside our loft are dried up and dead anyway. the other day i came across a hardy baby's breath bush and just couldn't resist. i try and be sneaky because i feel like someone is watching me. i'm also trying to walk fast but i'm dragging ziva...because you know when i'm in a hurry she wants to put on the breaks and stop and sniff everything. i also couldn't resist from today's walk in the park...and of course i am going slow, looking and clipping, and ziva is trying to run away.
she's trouble

Erawan Waterfalls
These are the last of my Thailand pictures. After we left the bridge we took a 45 minute van ride to some waterfalls. We went up some mountains and through the countryside to get there and it was beautiful! When we got to the waterfalls we decided that we weren't going to go swimming so we didn't change into our bathing suits. As we were making our way up Jeremy's sister, Laurie, was carrying a bag of food. We saw the sign about the monkeys and just kinda laughed (i forgot she was carrying food) and kept going. I was excited about seeing monkeys since we couldn't go to the monkey school earlier that day. A couple minutes later i heard these loud shrills and screams and saw a monkey carrying the food in Laurie's bag up a tree. They kinda ambushed her! After we got to one of the waterfalls Jeremy's other sister, Lisa, and Uncle decided to go swimming in their clothes. I wanted to get in, but i was wearing a white dress. We walked to the next waterfall (there were seven total) and just as i was building up enough courage to strip down to my skivvies (ok i was wearing a tank top and a slip under my dress...was more than what some other people were wearing. Lots of speedos) it started to rain and we decided we should probably head back since the paths were getting slippery and the roads could be dangerous riding in the van, plus it was getting late and we still had a 3-4 hour ride back to Bangkok.

checking to see if there was anything else in the bag.

Kanchanaburi
We arrived in Kanchanaburi in the evening. The next morning i got up early and walked around the resort. It was by the river and there were mountains not far off. You could hear the monks chanting. After breakfast we were supposed to go to monkey school, but the school had closed. We stopped by the cemetery for thousands of Australian, Dutch, and British war prisoners died during the construction of the railway. Next we went to the Bridge on River Kwai.
