some close up pictures of my face...and a crown

I'm not one who usually takes lots of pictures of myself. 

I mean I'll take pictures with friends all day long, but to snap pictures of myself posing

or whatever is just not my style.

(uh don't get me wrong, i have done it before and will do it again I'm sure)

So the other day when i made this little flower crown i had to take a gazillion pictures

of myself with my DSLR camera and i wasn't sure where i was pointing it most of the time.

Needless to say, i have a ton of pictures of my face.

Let's stop talking about my face.

I used these roses from the previous bouquet i made.  I figured i could reuse the

flowers instead of just letting them sit and die.  I went out in the rain

(more like drizzle-it was also an excuse to wear my raincoat)

 and got the lambs ear from across the streets deserted garden.

I now feel self conscious about so many close up pictures of myself.

Oh well, it was for the flowers i tell ya!

Yes, more flowers...

It's all i seem to be doing these days...playing with flowers.  Since i'm still pretty new to this whole thing sometimes it takes awhile to make anything.  It's not as easy as you may think.  I'm kinda limited with what i can work with (although i found a new place today that sells flowers...besides spray roses and mums! i was pretty excited!!).  But it's practice.  I should probably take it easy on the flower making at home though, i've been buying them recently and they add up pretty fast.  $4 here $7 there.  Ahh!  I just can't help myself.  Tomorrow i'm supposed to start making bridesmaid bouquets...for an actual wedding!

Anyway, i made this little bouquet earlier this week. 

Ditty of the Day

The other day i was playing around making a bouquet and listening to Pandora. 

While i as going all photo shoot on my flowers this song came on. 

I looked up and saw our Africa on the wall.

I have wanted to go Africa for a long time.  Jeremy said he'd take me some day.

(it might be a looong time from now though)

I would love to see the Gorillas.

fall arrangement

When my parents came to visit my mom brought a bunch of clippings from her yard so i could play around and make an arrangement.  I mentioned a few times to her before she came how i wish i had more flowers/branches to work with so she was sweet enough to bring some to me.  A few things came from outside our apartment...a couple branches with berries and a few golden rod. We decided to play around and add some props ;)

Elephant Rocks with my parents

My parents came to visit all last week and the day after they got here we headed out to climb on the Elephant Rocks.  We packed a lunch and headed out.  Once we got there we realized it was a little bit cooler than we thought and i just hate being cold, but it warmed up some.  We picnicked while dodging and "shooing" bees.  The trees were beautiful and it seemed to be the perfect time to come.

Warrior Dash

The other week we did our first Warrior Dash.  Jeremy's sister, Lisa, and her husband, Jonathan, came to do it with us.  They've done it a couple times before and signed us up for Christmas last year.  I was a little nervous how i'd do with the jogging, but it wasn't nearly as bad as i was thinking.  We stopped for a few minutes if we had to but we mostly jogged it all.  Lisa said the one in GA is muddier and has more water.  We were pretty much dry the entire time except at the very end.  We jumped over the fire and went through the mud pit.  It was so thick i was floating.  I was doing the froggy style swimming in it.  We were muddy from the neck down.  It was really nice that day, not too hot and a little bit of a breeze.  They had a firetruck there spraying people.  Jonathan went in and said it was freezing.  I hate being cold.  But i wanted to try and wash some of the mud off and put on a dry t-shirt. (plus it was drying on my arms and pulling my hair)  I went in and was barely getting enough water on me to really do anything.  I could hardly breath it was so cold.  That was a mistake.  I was pretty cold after that for awhile. I ended up throwing my shoes in the giveaway pile that they have.  Besides being cold afterwards it was a lot of fun!   Have you ever heard of the Zombie Run?  People dressed up like zombies chasing you and trying to get your flags (like flag football).  I guess if they grab all 3 your considered dead/turned into a zombie.  I think it's similar to the Warrior Dash, but with zombies after you.  Sounds fun!  and kinda scary.

just a mini bouquet on this chilly sunday afternoon

Earlier this afternoon i went outside our apartment and scrounged up whatever i could find to make either a bouquet or an arrangement.  Once i got back inside i separated, clipped, watered, and thought about what i wanted to do.  After a few failed attempts at a bouquet, i tried doing an arrangement.  When that didn't work i went back to the bouquet idea. Well i didn't have much to make a real big one, but i was pretty happy with how it turned out!  Afterwards i grabbed my camera and went on a picture taking rampage.  I try not to most too many pictures of the same arrangement/bouquet but there are just so many good ones!  I tried...
