We got in to Orlando late Wednesday night. Picked up our rental car (a Mustang! the guy gave us a free upgrade. It reminded me of our honeymoon because we got one like it except this time it wasn't convertible). The next morning we got up early and head to Universal Studios. We really wanted to see Hogwarts, so we went there first. (BEWARE: if you don't know much about Harry Potter you probably wont know what I'm talking about. Sorry) We walked through Hogsmeade and made our way to Hogwarts. There is a ride inside the castle. We didn't have to wait too long since it was still early. I think it was suppose to be like us flying on a broom and following Harry through a quidditch game, the castle, flying from dragons and dementors. It was really cool, but part of it was a screen and everything was just so fast that after the ride i started to feel sick. I can usually handle rides pretty well too. Maybe it was just early? Or it's just been a long time since I've ridden on a ride. After that we waited in line for an hour to get into Ollivanders Wand Shop. I was still feeling kinda sick from the ride and the sun was just beaming down on us. We haven't seen the sun in months! We're pasty white. It wasn't too hot, but i could feel it burning some. I think Jeremy was a little worried about me. By the time it was our turn to go in i was feeling better. When we walked in it was all dark and there were a few people dressed up. It was about a 10 minute demonstration on how Ollivander picks the wands. The actor that played him was amazing! I took a short video (i wasn't sure if i was suppose to or not so it's pretty bad and you can't hear or see him very well). After the demonstration we could go pick out a wand. We didn't get one...they were about $30-40. We then just wandered around Hogsmeade and split a ButterBeer. It was really good! It tastes kinda like cream soda. Then we made our way over to the Jurassic Park area and got some sunscreen. Rode the Jurassic Park ride and got a little wet. Then we went back into Hogsmeade and ate at the Three BroomSticks. After lunch we walked around the rest of Islands of Adventure and saw a Sindbad show. We walked around in the Marvel comic book area and the Looney Tunes. We decided to ride the Popeye ride and got drenched head to toe. After that we walked around some trying to dry and split another ButterBeer. We went and did a tour through Poseidon's Fury. It's a show of an archaeologist trying to find our way out of a temple. It was underground and since we were still a little wet we were freezing! It was nice when Poseidon and the bad guy were fighting because there was fire and we were warm for a minute. When that was over i think we started to make our way out.
We went to the hotel and changed our clothes. We ate at Zaxbys. Across from Zaxbys was an Ikea. Neither one of us had ever been there so we decided to do a quick walk through. Well after we did our quick walk through it took us about 20 minutes just to try and leave the place. We couldn't find the exit! We kept following signs and walked through the warehouse area and all over the place. There might have been a slight panic feeling for a second. Finally we made it out. Alive. Jeremy needed some new tennis shoes so we went to a store. We stayed in there talking with the guy for forever. He was really nice. The next day we went to Magic Kingdom...but i will save that for another post....
**All the pictures were taken with my iphone.
(the guy we talked to at the shoe store is friends with some Disney people and said that they are going to make it so people can take a train from Hogsmeade to Universal Studios. But you have to buy tickets to both parks. I think the Gringotts bank will be over there.)
