a short hike on a nice day

We went to the zoo on a day that Jeremy got off really early.  We thought by going on a weekday it wouldn't be as busy, but we were wrong...it was spring break! So it was pretty packed.

Rose has been gradually starting to sit up by herself.
It's funny to watch her trying to sit up from laying down on her back...it's like she's doing crunches.

11/52

Here's a little picture series for this week (barely getting it in! I'm slacking).

Check out those chins!

Rose had her 6 month check up this week.
Weighing in at 13 pounds and 5 ounces.
Healthy baby!

We've also been doing some sleep training this weekend.  Last weekend we stopped swaddling and had a few rough nights with her waking up a lot and i kept picking her up to rock her to sleep.  Then i think she got used to falling asleep in my arms and would wake up and cry every time i tried putting her down.  This weekend we decided to let her cry it out. Friday was the first night and she cried for an hour and i'm not sure who cried more, me or her.  It was not easy for me.  It still isn't, but she doesn't seem to cry as long and she does sleep longer through the night now unswaddled.  Before when she was swaddled she would often sleep through the night no problem, so this has been an adjustment for both of us.  Hoping each day gets a little easier (we're doing it for naps too so i'm always dreading putting her down for bedtime or naps).

a few pictures around the house

I decided to walk around the house earlier today and snap a few pictures.  Just because.  We've lived here for over 2 years and there are still areas that look blank or not decorated.  Partly because of the way the house is, partly because we don't have the right furniture for the space and probably partly because i don't love this house.  I think if you don't love it then it makes it a little harder.  I think if we bought the house and could really make it our own then maybe i would have done more.  Here's just a few bits and pieces around the heezy...

this week

This week has been so nice! It's been in the 50s and 60's all week and we've been on a walk everyday.   It went by really fast to me.  I kept thinking yesterday was Tuesday or Wednesday.  Although I'm kinda surprised because Rose has been up more in the middle of the night this week.  Jeremy got off of work really early one day so we went out for lunch.  We ate at a nice little cafe and it had this garden store inside of it.  It had some really cute home stuff too. Later we walked around an antique mall,

I bought a couple coloring books....more for adults ;)  I've been coloring during Roses naps or staying up at night when i should be going to bed.

getting a little fresh air!

pretty ranunculus!

Here's a screen shot of us from the tv segment about the ballet class

I know this picture is half blurry but i thought it was cute anyway!
Rose was probably on the move!

Rose is 6 months old today!
I can't believe it!
She is officially a "roller" now.  She's been rolling over every now and then for the past couple months, but i think they weren't on purpose, just flukes.  The past few weeks she would roll with some help and this week it seems like as soon as i put her down on her back she rolls over to her stomach.  Diaper changes have been interesting and are somewhat difficult now!

I took this picture yesterday after a busy morning.  We got up and got ready early to go to a ballet class.  We were on the local news for the class, Wear Your Baby Ballet.  When we got home Rose had a huge blowout which followed with a bath.  She hardly ever falls asleep on me!  I guess she was worn out.  She did it twice yesterday!

life lately

A few random pictures from my phone of life lately and recently enjoyed things.

morning cuddles

oatmeal for breakfast

Plant shopping last week
I love seeing all the succulents together like this

I made a macrame planter
It took me about 5-10 minutes to make, it was pretty easy!
I may have to make more to put outside

Just some of my floral frogs!
I was so excited to find the turtle frog while in GA!

We saw The Phantom Of The Opera at the Fox Theater last Friday night.
It was really good!
We've been humming the songs ever since.

Ranunculus!

Ranunculus and Anemones!
Spring is near!

Foxy pants and curly toes!

9/52

Playing catch up here...i'm a week behind. Here is 9/52 and i'll get this weeks in later.  Last Monday we got back from Georgia and the following few days were a bit of an adjustment i think for Rose.  Waking up at 3 or 4 in the morning, a bit fussy and did not want to be put down.  The past couple nights she's slept all the way through and has been a good happy baby.  This is actually a picture of Rose in Georgia.  We took a day trip to Thomasville to look in some antique stores and walk around downtown and came across this little hat...
