We're moving back home!

Yes, you read that right, we are moving back to Valdosta!  We are excited to be going back home after being in St. Louis for almost 5 years.  I have to say though, I will miss St. Louis a lot and it will be bittersweet to leave.  I remember when we found out we were moving here and would tell people they would either reply with a confused look and ask why, or told us that we were going to love it!  It was the people that had actually been or lived here that told us that we would love it.  We've had a lot of great memories here, our first place, living downtown, getting Ziva (don't get me started on moving down south with  Ziva., I do feel bad for her..it's the one thing I felt hesitant about moving ), and of course Rose was born here.  I know it will be a pretty big difference from St. Louis to little ole' Valdosta, and sometimes when i think about it i get this knot in my stomach.  Are we making the right choice?  I think so.  I've wanted to move closer to home for a little while.  We may not live in Valdosta for forever, but for right now it's what we want.  My whole family is currently there, and Jeremy's parents and some extend family is there too.  Two of his sisters are in North Georgia.  We have friends there and the ones that moved away do come back to visit every so often.  I want Rose to grow up knowing her family.  I didn't know my extend family very much...we lived in different places.  Jeremy's family had Sunday dinners and always did things for the holidays together.  For us, it just makes sense to be home right now.

We aren't sure of the exact moving day, but sometime in the next 2-3 months.  That's what we've been told it could take for paper work to go through. So until then, we are going to try and soak in everything we can about St. Louis and enjoy the mild summers they have ;)

Face the Foliage

A few years ago I was at the grocery store looking at some magazines and wanted to pick up a decorating/house magazine (i can't think of the name now).  I picked one up and flipped through it real quick to see if it was something I would be interested in.  I came across a few pages of this house and I knew I wanted to look at it more so I brought it home with me.  She calls her house the Jungalow (a Jungle and Bungalow).  It was kind of a bohemian/worldly style with lots of plants. Anyway, fast forward to a couple more years and she started something called Face the Foliage...making faces out of foliage and sometimes stories to go with them.

A few months ago, on Earth Day actually, I decided I wanted to give it a try so I went out and picked up a few twigs, maple leaves, and things off the ground while on a walk.  It was fun trying to figure out when would work as her lips, or her eyes.  Finding a twig with enough curve to make her chin. I never came up with a story for my lady, but I'm not really good with that kind of stuff.  If you type in Face the Foliage in google you'll find a lot of much cooler faces!  Maybe I'll try again soon being in a different season and maybe use and find different things.

The lady with the Jungalow is Justina Blakeney.  She has a book out now called The New Bohemians, that I have enjoyed browsing through when I have a free minute.  If you're looking for some inspiration check out her blog http://www.thejungalow.com/

22/52 Rose and Ziva twins

Sometimes Ziva will come into the office and get under the bed if we're on the computer.
Yesterday all i could see are her feets sticking out.

Today when i was making the bed i put Rose down on the floor and when i walked back around she was half way under the bed.

Rose usually makes a B-line to Ziva now that she can crawl.
Sometimes she will crawl just far enough to plop down on her belly, stretch out her little arm as far as it can reach to touch Ziva's paw and just pet her.

Ziva

Ziva wanted some pictures of her and to have her own blog post!
No babies allowed!
So here she is!

These were earlier this year when i was picking her up from the kennel

21/52

On Memorial Day last week it was warm to play in a little water, so i filled up a bucket and let Rose splash around in it.  We'll be going to the beach next week so this was just a little preview of some water fun (i hope)...as much as a baby can have fun in the water anyway.

I found Ziva out there drinking up the water before we went out
